# Google Drive

> Connect Google Drive to train your chatbot on Docs, Sheets, Slides, and PDFs — no copy-pasting required.

# Google drive

Connect your Google Drive and select files or folders to turn your existing documents into chatbot knowledge. InsiteChat supports all major Google formats and extracts content automatically.

## Connect and train in three steps

    In your InsiteChat dashboard, click **Connect Google Drive**. Sign in with your Google account and grant read-only access when prompted.

  <Step title="Browse and select files">
    Navigate your Drive folders. Select individual files, multiple files, or entire folders to import. Bulk folder import lets you bring in hundreds of files at once.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Import and train">
    Click **Import**. InsiteChat extracts text from your files, chunks it into segments, and builds embeddings. Your chatbot is ready to answer questions as soon as the import completes.

  InsiteChat only requests read-only access to your Google Drive. Your files are never modified, stored, or shared.

* **Google Docs** — `.doc`, `.docx`, `.txt`, `.rtf`
* **Google Sheets** — `.xls`, `.xlsx`, `.csv`
* **Google Slides** — `.ppt`, `.pptx`
* **PDF files**
* **HTML and Markdown files**

## Keep your chatbot current

Your chatbot's knowledge reflects your content at the time of the last import. When you update documents in Google Drive, re-import the source from your dashboard to sync the latest changes. You can re-sync individual files or entire folders.
