Lead capture lets you collect visitor contact information through a form built into the chat widget. You can show the form before the conversation starts, after the first message, or at any other point you choose. All collected leads are stored in your InsiteChat dashboard.
Lead capture works 24/7 — even when your team is offline. Visitors can leave their details at any time and you’ll have them waiting in your dashboard.

What you can collect

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Custom fields (any label and input you define)

Set up lead capture

1

Open your chatbot in the dashboard

Log in to your InsiteChat dashboard and select the chatbot you want to configure.
2

Go to Lead Capture settings

Inside your chatbot, click the Lead Capture tab.
3

Toggle on lead capture

Switch lead capture to On.
4

Choose which fields to collect

Select the fields you want to include: Name, Email, Phone, or add a Custom field with your own label.
5

Set when to show the form

Choose when the lead form appears:
  • Before chat starts — the visitor fills in their details before sending a message
  • After first message — the form appears after the visitor sends their first message
  • Other timing options available in settings
6

Save settings

Click Save. Lead capture is now active on your widget.
Require only email to reduce friction — most visitors will drop off if asked for too much information upfront. You can always follow up to collect more details.

View your leads

  1. Go to your InsiteChat dashboard.
  2. Click Leads in the left navigation.
  3. Browse all captured leads, including the fields collected and the timestamp.

Export leads as CSV

From the Leads section, click Export to download all your leads as a CSV file. You can import this file into any CRM or email marketing tool.
All leads are stored securely in your InsiteChat dashboard. You can view, filter, and export them at any time.
