InsiteChat captures leads directly inside your AI chat widget — collecting visitor names, emails, phone numbers, and any custom fields you define. Manage every lead from the dashboard with status tracking, color-coded tags, starring, search, bulk actions (star / archive / delete), and CSV export. Every captured lead carries the full conversation transcript so your sales team walks into the follow-up call already knowing what the visitor cares about.

Set up lead forms

Go to embed tab

Select your chatbot and click the Embed tab.

Configure timing

Choose when the lead form appears:
  • After messages — After a configurable number of visitor messages (default: 3)
  • At start — Immediately when the chat opens
  • Before escalation — When the visitor requests human assistance

Add custom fields

Beyond the default name/email/phone fields, add custom fields with:
  • Text input
  • Number input
  • Dropdown with custom options
  • Mark fields as required or optional

Save

Click Save Customization. The lead form is now active on your widget.

Access the Leads tab in your chatbot to manage all captured leads.

Status tracking

Each lead has a status that you can update:

Features

  • Search — Find leads by name, email, or phone
  • Filter — Filter by status or starred leads
  • Star — Mark important leads for quick access
  • Tags — Create custom tags with colors and assign to leads
  • Detail panel — Click any lead to see full contact info, custom fields, tags, and the complete conversation transcript
  • Bulk actions — Select multiple leads to star, unstar, archive, or delete in batch
  • CSV export — Download all leads (including custom field columns) for use in CRM, email marketing, or analytics

Conversation context

Each lead’s detail panel shows the full conversation transcript from the chat session where the lead was captured. This gives your sales team complete context when following up.
Ask for less up front. Collecting just an email address reduces form abandonment. You can always follow up for additional details later.
Leads are soft-deleted when removed — they can be recovered if needed. The lead capture endpoint has built-in rate limiting (10 submissions per IP per minute) and duplicate email detection (5-minute dedup window) to prevent spam.
