Overview

The InsiteChat Shopify app adds an AI chatbot to your Shopify store using a Theme App Extension. Visitors can ask product questions, get support, and submit leads — all powered by your trained knowledge base.

Installation

Install from Shopify app store

Search for InsiteChat in the Shopify App Store, or install directly from your InsiteChat dashboard.

Enter chatbot ID

After installation, go to Online StoreThemesCustomize. Find the InsiteChat app block and enter your Chatbot ID.

Configure position

Choose where the chatbot appears: Bottom Right or Bottom Left. Save and publish your theme.

Finding your chatbot ID

  1. Log in to insitechat.ai
  2. Go to your chatbot → Embed tab
  3. Copy the Chatbot ID

Best practices for Shopify

  • Train on product pages — add your Shopify store URL as a source to train on all product descriptions
  • Add FAQ content — upload your FAQ or return policy as a text source
  • Use Q&A pairs — add common product questions with precise answers
  • Enable lead capture — collect visitor emails for abandoned cart follow-ups

Uninstalling

Go to SettingsApps in your Shopify admin and uninstall InsiteChat. The chatbot widget is removed immediately.
